# THE GENESIS SEASON

> The first-ever Degen Games: a monthly trading competition on Base.

## How it works

- **Hold** -- Be in the top 5,000 BASE167 holders when we take the snapshot.
- **Claim** -- Claim your Entry Pass NFT free — you only pay gas. Not eligible? Buy one.
- **Trade** -- Enrol a clean wallet, fund it with $5+ USDC and gas ETH, and trade anything on Base for five days.

## How to enter

Two steps to enter. First we snapshot the top 5,000 BASE167 holders, and they can then claim an Entry Pass NFT. Second, during the enrolment window, whoever holds an Entry Pass can register a competition wallet. Enrolling locks that Entry Pass so that it can't be registered to another player or sold.

1. On snapshot day we record the top 5,000 BASE167 holders. No signup — just hold.
2. In the top 5,000 BASE167 holders? Claim your Entry Pass NFT here, free. You only pay gas.
3. Not in the top 5,000 BASE167 holders? Buy a Pass on the open market. Enrolled Passes are locked, so any Pass you can buy during the window is unused. Passes unlock and trade freely after the season closes.
4. Use a clean competition wallet — any wallet will do, as long as it holds only USDC and gas ETH when the bell rings.
5. Enrol that wallet here before enrolment closes. Enrolling locks your Pass.
6. Fund it with at least $5 of USDC, no upper limit, plus gas ETH — max 0.0002 ETH.
7. Wait for the opening bell.

## Rules

- Trade whatever you like on Base — perps, coins, real-world assets, meme coins, NFTs. All of it counts.
- No self-dealing. Any asset whose liquidity can be manipulated is banned.
- No topping up. Any USDC that arrives mid-game counts towards your stake, so it buys you nothing: your return is measured against everything you had to trade with, not just your opening balance. Topping up your own wallet can still disqualify it — reviewed by hand, never automatic, because a stranger can send you money and must not be able to knock you out.
- Fund at least $5 USDC before the bell. We record how much USDC you have when the opening bell rings.
- Hold no more than 0.0002 ETH for gas at the bell. Checked once, no tolerance, no remedy afterwards — if your exchange sends more than the cap, move the excess out first.
- Start with USDC only. Any other token you hold at the bell is flagged and reviewed by hand, because you would start with hidden value — and that review can disqualify you. It is never automatic: your wallet is public from the moment you enrol, so junk somebody else pushes at it cannot knock you out.
- Base only. Because you're based.
- Change all your trades back to USDC before the close — only USDC is counted!!!
- Biggest percentage gain wins, not the biggest wallet. We want every trader to be in the game no matter how big their bag.

## The Finals

- Every monthly Degen Games is a qualifier — finish in the top 10 and you're through to the Finals.
- When the season wraps, everyone who qualified — each month's top 10 plus the season's top Entry Pass collectors — drops in to the Finals to settle who's the biggest degen on Base.
- Podium finishers take home Gold, Silver and Bronze medal NFTs. A tradeable memento of the glory!
- The Finals pot is 1,200,000,000 BASE167 — the biggest pot of the season and the ultimate bragging rights at stake.

## What a season pays

Each monthly season pays a 300,000,000 BASE167 pot to the podium only -- 150,000,000 for first, 100,000,000 for second, 50,000,000 for third -- and the annual Finals pay 1,200,000,000 BASE167. Money stops at three, glory does not: every place inside winnersCount (ten in season 1) mints a rank-stamped Winner badge NFT and takes a Finals seat. Read winnersCount from /api/games/state rather than assuming ten, and state every figure in BASE167, never as a cash value.

## Who can enter

Two gates, in order. The holder snapshot at snapshotAt records the top BASE167 holders, and only an address in it can claim that season's Entry pass; the list size is the topHolders config value. Then the enrolment window, enrollOpenAt to enrollCloseAt, is when a pass holder registers a competition wallet -- that is the act that enters them. Enrolling locks the Entry pass until the closing bell, after which EntryNFT.releaseLock(tokenId) is permissionless. Holding several passes makes you a Collector, which is what the Finals seats are drawn from.

## Dates

Seasons move -- season 1 was itself rescheduled. Read snapshotAt, enrollOpenAt, enrollCloseAt, openingBellAt and closingBellAt from /api/games/state, all unix seconds, and report phase -- one of pre, seatMarket, setup, preGame, game or settled -- with nextBoundary rather than computing the season's state yourself.

## Live data

Nothing on this page is a live figure. Read these at the moment you need them:

- `POST /api/check` with `{ address }` -- a wallet's Base transaction count and claim eligibility
- `GET /api/games/state` -- the season, its phase, its config and its boards
- `GET /api/games/leaderboard` and `GET /api/games/results` -- the live and settled boards
- On chain: `claimCount()` and `rewardsRemaining()` on the token
